Hi, I'm Kels!

The Best Sourdough Glazed Donuts

Produce for an individual serving of juice.

Last night, I slept alright. I couldn’t seem to get comfortable, and I had to get up 3 times in the night to use the bathroom. I did not miss being pregnant during those times! I was wide awake at 5 AM. This time I laid in bed until 6 AM, then got up and started to juice. I didn’t want to be awake for too long before getting some juice in my body, or I knew it would be downhill from there. I have always been a huge breakfast fan. I can’t go longer than an hour being awake without eating breakfast, or I start to feel light headed and sick. Juicing takes some time, so I got right to it this morning. We had our breakfast juice at 7:00 AM, and then got ready for church. Our church goes from 9 AM until noon on Sundays. I took my water bottle with me and drank it frequently. I started to feel a bit hungry by the end, but nothing too bad. We came home and juiced again and put the kids down for naps. We were headed to a friend’s home to play games at 5 PM, so we made a juice at 4:00 PM that would tide us over until we got home.

We told our friends not to make us any food. No one ever listens to things like that. She made a hot dip with melted cheese, tomatoes, pepperoni, onions, etc. to spread on toasted bread and crackers. We were stuck. It’s rude to just ignore the food sitting there, and I even brought a big plate of homemade Oreos to them (we didn’t eat ANY, which is a miracle because they are my husband’s favorite). My husband and I each had a piece of the bread, with a meager topping. It was a little weird to chew! I instantly felt the effects. My body was screaming, “NO!!!” I felt awful, and for a few minutes even wondered if I wouldn’t have to leave their home because I was going to throw up. I drank a few glasses of water and held it together. I could tell my husband was struggling as well. I hated breaking the fast, but we really love our friends and didn’t want to go into a “Juice fast” conversation with them. So we ate. It’s amazing to me how quickly after juicing my body realizes what’s good for it, and screams about everything else. It was instantaneous. We got home and got to work making another juice and some Calli. It felt so good going down! I’ve been plugging my nose as I drink every time, because I’m still not used to how strong it is. My stomach is a little upset as I write this, but tomorrow is a new day. There is definitely a reason that it’s suggested to EASE off of a juice fast. Eating something like that was not the best idea, but we had a great time with some awesome friends.
